Faith isn't about perfection, it's about Grace

When you put your story into the world, you have to expect that not everyone will receive it the same way. I knew that when I published my book. Some would connect deeply, others might not.
That is okay.
But there is one point I want to gently address.
Being a Christian has never meant being perfect or sinless. The heart of Christianity is the opposite. It is the recognition that we all fall short and that we desperately need God’s grace. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ~ Romans 3:23–24.
When I describe myself as a believer, a Christian, and a follower of Jesus, I am not claiming to have lived a flawless life. I have made mistakes. I still make mistakes. But my devotion is not to perfection. It is to Jesus Christ, who forgives, who redeems, and who continues to transform me day by day. My past does not disqualify me from faith. In truth, it is the very reason I cling to it all the more.
In writing my story, I chose to share openly. Like anyone crafting a memoir, there are details I did not expand on. That was not because I was hiding them, but because the purpose of my book is not to glorify my failures. It is to shine a light on God’s goodness. I stand by that choice.
I also understand that not everyone who picks up my book will believe in God or understand what it means to live by grace. But even through disagreement, I pray that a seed of hope is planted. Because grace is not just for me. It is for anyone willing to receive it. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Lord, thank You for the gift of grace that covers our past, shapes our present, and gives us hope for the future. Thank You that being a follower of Jesus is not about perfection but about Your redemption. I pray for every person reading this right now. For those who know You, may they be reminded of Your never-ending love. For those who are searching, may they encounter the hope, forgiveness, and peace that can only be found in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
