Love, Trust, Truth

To genuinely love others, I first need to embrace the love of the One who created me. It’s like filling your cup before pouring into someone else’s. When my relationship with God is strong and grounded, I find that my ability to love others deepens.

Navigating relationships can be challenging. They require effort and commitment. One of the most important ingredients is communication; it’s how we express our feelings, needs, and concerns. But communication alone won’t keep a relationship thriving—trust is the foundation upon which everything else is built. When God is at the center of our connections, we can cultivate a space where trust can flourish.

For love to blossom in a healthy way, trust must be present. And trust can only emerge when there is truth. Think about it: how can you trust someone if you feel they’re hiding something? Truth, trust, and love are like a trio that supports one another. If I want to trust someone, I need to know that they are honest with me. And when I can trust, I’m free to love openly and wholeheartedly.

Love isn’t just a fleeting emotion; it’s a conscious choice we make every day. It’s about choosing to prioritize the well-being of another person, even when it’s not convenient or easy.

Just as Jesus loves the Church, with a love that is unconditional and enduring, that is the kind of love we should all aspire to. It’s a love that is patient, kind, and forgiving. It’s the kind of love that sees beyond faults and embraces the beautiful imperfections in ourselves and others.

It’s not just about finding the right person, but about being the right person. By nurturing our relationship with God and embodying truth and trust, we can create lasting connections that uplift and inspire both ourselves and those we love.
