Through the Rainbow

A year ago today, I walked out into the backyard with Joy and saw a double rainbow…
It was as if God was letting me know I was going to be okay. I was sad because I was leaving Joy, and also because I just didn’t know what to expect. The next morning, I would fly out to Hawaii, where I’d stay for the next couple of months. But God met me there.
From the people I met, to the prayers I received, to the many sunsets I witnessed, I’m so grateful for that time. One thing I learned is that God will meet us where we are. He will never leave us. Things may not always make sense, but His presence is one thing I’m so grateful for.
This healing journey, while it was painful to walk through everything I did, I can see that God was with me through it all. If it meant having a deeper relationship with Him, then I’m grateful for that painful season. His love is unending.
A year later, I still get teary-eyed. I find myself telling Him more often, "I love You, God," because I’m constantly reminded of how much He loves me.
Looking back now, I can’t help but think about God’s promise through the rainbow. Just as the rainbow is a reminder of His covenant, it’s also a reminder to me that God never leaves us, no matter what circumstances we face. He was with me then, He’s with me now, and I know He’ll continue to be with me every step of the way. Oh, how amazing our God is!
